Licence to practice (Approbation)
Are you planning to work permanently and without restrictions as a pharmacist in Germany after studying pharmacy abroad? Then you will need a special professional licence: the Approbation.
Professional licence (Berufserlaubnis)
It is also possible to apply for a professional licence to work as a pharmacist on a temporary and limited basis. However, this licence is only valid for a period of 2 years and is limited to work under supervision (non-self-employed and non-managerial work).
In Baden-Württemberg, the licence to practice as well as the professional licence must be applied for at the Stuttgart Regional Council (Regierungspräsidium Stuttgart).
