Please note that your academic training is thus categorised as a school-based vocational training course to become a sports and gymnastics teacher outside the national public school system.

For a comparative recognition of your university degree, you can contact the Zentralstelle für ausländisches Bildungswesen, Graurheindorfer Str. 157, 53117 Bonn oder Postfach 2240, 53012 Bonn (anabin: Anabin - Informationssystem zur Anerkennung ausländischer Bildungsabschlüsse (kmk.org))

If you wish to work in the field of sport without having your qualification in the field of sport recognised, please contact the relevant sports club or sports self-administration (sports association) directly.

Any assessment of your professional training in the field of specialist medical professi- ons (e.g. masseur, medical bath attendant, physiotherapist, etc.) can be carried out at the Stuttgart Regional Council in Department 95: Regierungspräsidium Stuttgart, Referat 95 / Landesprüfungsamt und Anerkennungsstelle für Gesundheitsberufe, Ruppmannstr.

Job profile of a sports and gymnastics teacher outside the national public school system:
Freelance sports and gymnastics instructors work primarily in extracurricular sports. They are employed by sports clubs, sports associations, larger companies, municipal facilities, commercial leisure and fitness centres, prevention and rehabilitation facilities, the tourism industry, public schools, private sports providers and the like. Freelance sports and gymnastics instructors can also work as self-employed entrepreneurs in the above-mentioned professional fields.

Recognition as a sports and gymnastics teacher does not normally allow for career-long employment in the national public school service in Baden-Württemberg, although temporary teaching contracts may be possible. However, a claim to employment in the public school service of the state of Baden-Württemberg cannot be derived from these individual cases either.

However, when submitted to the employment agency, to training centres in the field of sport (e.g. when training to become a physiotherapist or similar), to sports clubs or associa- tions and sometimes also to public schools, recognition as a sports and gymnastics teacher can lead to an appropriate classification and sometimes also to employment.
